Farmall M Belly Pump

I haven't messed with the belly pumps on the Ms and am curious if there is an easy way to verify if one has a pump in it or not. Reason
for my question, I am looking at buying a 1948 M from a late 90s retired farmer. It currently doesn't have any plumbing and he has never
used the hydraulics and he can't remember if it even has a pump. Short of doing it the hard way, would I have an easier option to verify?
Not that it is a show stopper cause the M is in superb shape and he said it never spent a night outdoors but I would certainly want to put
a pump in if there isn't one. Thanks!

Goes up in housing between engine and transmission. Operating lever and other pipes in picture will stick out holes in housing. Operating rod should extend from lever to bracket on steering post.

So no operating lever/rod and pipes between engine/transmission housing equals no pump, gotcha sir. I will certainly take a look at that
and see what I see. Thanks sir!

You can also see the bottom of the pump looking up at the bottom of the tractor. In the picture above the the ledge you see at the bottom is where it bolts on to the underside of the tractor. If there is no pump there will either be a hole where the pump should go or a flat plat that would cover the hole.
