Farmall A Ignition switch

Crazy (?) question... Anyone know of a quality ignition switch that will easily replace the push/pull original style? Reason I ask, every one I have replaced ends up with the knob and shaft pulling free from the switch body. I push it back together, and, if I am very careful when pulling up to start, it works fine. However, I would like to have a switch that is a bit more robust. Perhaps the replacements arew chinese, nd not well made. If that's the case, where can I get a quality replacement? I can't be the only one this happens to, can I?

If IH no longer stocks them there is a place that store houses new old part they can access if they want or maybe some one like me has a used one laying around. I built my BA from parts of an A and parts from a B. Front end is B other then internal engine parts which are from the A and from the transmission back it is an A so that is why I call it a BA. There's good chance I have one on hand from the B parts tractor I have

The current IH part number is 61802DC shown for $32.75. I will add a link to the IH parts page. It may not open to the switch, new parts page has a mind of its own. The switch is not like the original aluminum barrel type. My M has had one of these replacement style switches for 25 plus years and it is still fine. It also has not always set inside either. Not saying the quality of the switch then verses now is necessarily the same either. If it dos not open to the switch you will have to select ...keyword/part number for ..type.. of search and enter the part number I gave. You may also need to select a nearby dealer to see the price.

Probably should have put this first, YT has the aluminum barrel type replacement switches. A little more money at $42, and I can’t speak for the quality. All I can say is my normal spiel... that I always hear way more positive remarks about part bought here than I hear negatives.

The questions I would ask are first is this a distributor genie or a magneto engine? Forgive me but don't know if A's came both ways.

Second question would be do you car about being "original" or just want it to work?

Spell checker got me on that post, should have said:
