Farmall 450 carb float setting

Forum Members,
I have been assisting an older gentleman with a fuel flow problem with a Farmall 450 tractor. The tractor runs for a while and then seems to run out of fuel. I have cleaned the previously rebuilt carb and there does not seem to be any major glitches in it. One area I did not cover was the float level. Does anyone know the preferred float setting. Any and all advice will be appreciated.
Thanks.

As per the I-T manual the float setting is Farthest face of float to gasket surface is 1-5/16. Also you might want to check this. Pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in less then 3 minutes and yes catch the gas to time it. If you do not have that flow take the gas line off the carb and check there. I had a gas flow problem on my Oliver S88 and there was a leave in the sediment bowl intake pipe not lettign the gas flow like it should. Cleaned that up and it has run fine since

turn the top half upside down and " eye it" it must sit level on the needle. but that is not your problem. make sure the float drop is good
and the needle is not sticking when the float drops. hold top half at eye level and gently push up on float to seat it. then let it drop
and see if the needle drops also. i have seen many with the needle sticking and not letting gas in. check the screen at inlet. open sediment
bowl and let gas run out of line and has to be running at full flow like a race horse. many times the sediment bowl plugs up with garbage.
remove it and blow out all the passages with air. usually the stand pipe gets junk in it.
