after i changed the oil. dont know how to bleed the thing
3point works but takes toll on motor....always did

any help or shop in the ne area that can get me going again? i am in central mass.

or suggestions?

The most common fail is the screen and pilot valve in the regulator and safety valve. It has a tendency to plug up and go on demand all the time. if it has a ball over the valve, it may have hammered the orifice part way shut. that needs to be drilled out to the size it was. Jim

you nailed it instantly!

i had a terrible time stuffing that valve back in. used brute hammer force!

it popped up and it looks like the top was broken off....a hex screw...held down by what?? i had to put a bar over the entire thing and it has been leaking....part 5 in particular.

i had no idea what it is for and what it is named. i guess a remanuf part would be best for a guy with 5 thumbs on one hand and no right hand....can you help out here?

whats that part called? it is a square manifold, sandwiched besides the hydraulic lever and connected with hoses. its under the seat on the right side. not all ih 350's seem to have it....only those with power steering?

you sound like an expert: q: is it normal that when i engage the 3point hitch, the motor really gets torqued down and seems to use a lot of power even with no load on the 3point hitch....

thanks a million for your patience and interest, you have no idea how much i appreciate this. i hope we can get this going again. i can take a few pictures, maybe i still have them somewhere let me ck on this

so these two pictures show where my trouble comes from? the bar i manufactured to hold down or in the piston is under the wrench visible

if i could find a remanufactured partr and send this in as a core that would save me a lot of tummy aches.....any suggestions? parts numbers?

thanks in advance

fred

The pilot valve is deeper into the block. It is not labeled in this illustration because CaseIH decided to remove all no longer stocked part numbers and names Grrrr! There is a rumor that tey will repair the list to include them again, but I do not hold my breath. I would probably purchase a used block from Steiner's Tractor, or Bates Equipment. The pilot and screen are shown in a physical paper parts manual. Jim

i have the steiner, not bates catalogues

would you have a number of the part? do they sell the entire block? steiner is not too hot with advice. natl tractor parts has a huge inventory. trouble is i dont know what to look for!

is that block/valve assembly where you think my problem is? most likely because i hammered it back in and from there on the power steering was dead...

what do you mean by deeper into the block?

do you know the partn number of the entire assembly?

cant find out from your illustration!
