In the parts book there are sometimes two listings (or more) of parts for a 300 Farmall. Which one should a person use to get parts? For example, the left rear axle seal has two listings for it. The top number for number 7 (the seal) has a 43 or 48-722D for a part number and with a 2 in the column A. Can anyone explain the A and B column?

The column with things like the #2 is how many of that part is on the tractor. Sometimes the parts book lists the newer number and the older number. Often times one number is for a set of machines above or below a certain serial number.

Sounds like you are looking at two different axle sizes on a Farmall. Regular 2.5 axle and big 2.75 diameter. Axle housing, outer seal retainer, seal, bearing and wheel is different between the two. Should be a note in the parts book to say what column to look at for size used.
