Farmall M gaskets arrived - yay :)

Hi All,

As you prolly guessed from the title, the gaskets arrived today. 😀

Pto shaft and housing gaskets
Oil housing gasket

Etc etc

These gaskets from CNH seem to have a sealer on them - what you think? Just slap them on and go, or use a little sealer as well?

If yes on the sealer, what you recommend?

Same sealer for all or vary by application?

I tack that back - all the gaskets do not have some self-sealer on them.

So, looks like adding a little gasket sealer is in order.

What you recommend?

Spray on Copper coat is good for large surface area gaskets, Permatex #2 is good for smaller thinner surfaces, Permatex HiTack spray on the valve cover gasket. On that gasket, use the hy Tack on the cover and gasket to cover only, not the gasket to head. On that surface use a light coat of grease or Vaseline. This allows the removal of the VC without destroying the gasket. Jim
