'51 Cub rear seal

I had the same problem on my 47 Cub a while back. I learned from this site it was a problem on them as the seal size was wrong for the holder when they first came out. I don't know how far the problem went before finding and fixing it. The easy fix was a new holder and seal. This is assuming you don't have a groove wore into the crank shaft.

I remember finding sources of them by googling speedi sleeves. I know NAPA can get them but I bought one there once and it was a lot more expensive than the source I found on line. I don't recall who the online source was. Do you know you need one? The seal problem was how it fit into the holder, not on the crank shaft.

When you say the rear end of the crankshaft, I assume the flywheel end. I don't know of any "speedy" for this application. It would have to be some kind of two piece because of the flywheel mounting flange. Speedy sleeves are used on the crank pulley end.
I would take a closer look at the seal you have. In general, the OD of replacement seals fit too loose in the seal housing. Often some form of sealer or loctite is used to "glue" the seal into the housing. Some sources machine the housing and install a larger OD seal.
If your seal housing is original, it's interesting that your seal fits your housing.
Either way, I would measure the crankshaft and compare the specs of your seal.

on my crank in this c60 engine the only thing I can see to hinder a speedi sleeve installation is the fly wheel dowel, seal runs on same crank protrusion that the flywheel butts up to
