I changed my hydraulic pump for my lift and everything fit but when I start the tractor and let it run in a couple of minutes the pump gets hot. I turned it off and not sure whats the cause ? The pump does look a little different than the original but it fit and it works and I dont hear anything that sounds like its not correct and when running.

If you have the lift in the up or down limit, move it to a mid position. Then move to the full up position and to the full down position. If the engine remains under load in the full up or down position, the feedback linkage needs adjustment.
When you move the lever, it activates the touch control valve. The feedback linkage tells the valve when to deactivate. If the touch control is moved into a limit and the feedback does not deactivate the valve, the system will remain under pressure and the pump will heat up. Eventually causes the pump seal to fail.

Thanks for the info. I did have a piece of screen missing from the old filter in the hydraulic tank and get a new one. Where do I find this valve ? I may have a piece of that old screen in the valve. Can I check it ?

(quoted from post at 12:45:42 08/08/20) Do the lift arms work? Maybe you need to prime the pump. Don't run it
too long when getting hot as you might ruin your new pump.

Dave
yes they do work. I was wondering if maybe the oil wasnt getting to the pump. How would I prime it ?

All the valves are internal. The adjustment is between the Control Handle and the Touch Control Unit. The feedback is accomplished with the linkage circled in the picture. The over pressure condition I mentioned is when the control handle is telling the rockshaft to move when it's already in a physical limit. If this your situation, you simply adjust the linkage.
When you move the Control Handle and move the circled linkage arm, the valve is activated. As the rockshaft move, it moves the other end of the linkage until the valve is returned to the original neutral position.

Thanks for the help. I think this valve is working correctly but I will check. I will break the lines at the pump see if the oil is even getting to the pump. If not how can I prime it so that the oil gets there ?

I have found the valves for the lift. One linked to both levers. I lost a piece of screen from the inside the hydraulic tank and maybe it is stuck in the plunger of the valve ? How could I check this it sure looks like its hard to get to ?
