New CaseIH Parts Page Useless....

They completely changed it. Don't even have my old account access, so I lost ALL my maintenance info, bookmarks for parts to order, etc. Then, when I
can find where the parts for my 560, for example, they only list the parts they still inventory. **** those clowns! That page is as useless at teats
on a boar. Case has lost another customer. Not that Fiat or the stock holding j*ws give a hoot.

Messicks parts search for Ford, NH & CaseIH is also down, btw.

Another way to eliminate anything the corporate bean counters don't want to deal with because there's no profit in it. Keep only the things that you can sell at a little profit, when inventory is all gone, don't make more. Eventually all older equipment will be obsolete because parts are no longer available. Then corporation can sell something new that makes more profit.

I just yesterday complained about the "new and improved" web page on another forum. Why they could not leave the part numbers online for the parts no longer available and just add :"NLA" after them is beyond me. It would be a good thing for someone who happened on to a box full of new old stock to be able to identify what the parts were for. It seems like deleting them from the web page would be more work than just leaving them there.

Don't feel bad, once again they are only trying to catch up with Mother Deere.

She updated her parts site a while back, making it MUCH less user-friendly and also removing nla part numbers.

I had an afterthought pertaining to the no longer posted NLA part references. CaseIH has a page for buying scanned &/or reprinted operators manuals,
service publications & parts catalogs. Most of the operators/service manuals can be purchased for a lot cheaper than most repro's online. There's
also the option to download them in .pdf format to your computer to read or print out. The parts catalogs are very expensive either way you order
them (eBay can have an original listed for 1/3 or 1/4 of what CaseIH wants.... maybe even cheaper). For the most part, it takes a lot of time to
scan them & they have to pay someone to do it (Last I heard, it was college girls hired locally. Fun to flirt with on the phone, but that's another
story. Lol!). Anyway, the lack of parts & parts info support on the parts page could lead to more purchases from the tech pub's site. Could. They
could easily put a kibosh on that as well & give you a Schultz response of, "I KNNNNOW NUSSSSSING!!!".

Guess we'll see what happens.

Frustrating. No doubt they are squeezing for the most efficient generation of the bottom line. Selling new stuff is probably "faster" money for the big corporation. I used their site many times. Luck with actually getting parts from the dealer has been hit and miss for quite a while.

The web changes reminds me of when Advance Auto parts changed their website. Used to, when you pulled up a part for a specific vehicle you could then see what all vehicles that part also fit. It was great for some of my "one piece at a time" vehicles that use parts from three different decades. Now you can sort of do that on rock auto.

I buy the parts book for my tractors and don't have to worry about on line sites like Case. I don't know if we should be blaming Case for not maintaining information on 50-80 year old tractors.

Thing is if the information was already scanned in and posted online how much could it cost to just leave the files available online? I understand that they are not going to be making any money by posting the part number for the governor spring for a 1939 tractor but it also is not going to cost anything to leave that part number on the page.

Another thing I may have the parts book for my BN but if someone asks a question about some other tractor if the parts diagram is easily viewed online I might take a look at it and understand what the person is trying to do and despite not having done the same job I may be able to make a suggestion.

And one more thought. I would think that the vast majority of people on this forum are not people who would be going out and buying new equipment but more are doing this for enjoyment of keeping an old machine working.

If a company does put out a small effort to help people like those here to keep their old tractors going younger people will have the chance of seeing them at shows or just out working in grandpa's garden.

So when the tractor needs some work the kid might see how grandpa can take a machine that won't work and figure out the problem and fix it. This can encourage the kid to join in and get some good basic understanding on how things work and maybe they will then go on to want to do that for a living.

That kid might end up being anything from the next designer for the company or the service tech that can fix a problem with a new tractor and make a customer happy who will in turn want to buy more equipment from the company.
