1066 top end oiling

Back on 5/21 I posted a message about valve adjustment on my 1066. One valve in particular getting loose after only about 30 hours. Checked cam lift and found all equal, then found excessive wear at the cup end of the push rod. Apparently top end oiling was a problem in some earlier 400 series engines. Articles in Red Power suggested drilling additional oil passage in the rocker or replacing entire rocker shaft with one from a 466 truck engine. Went that route. Problem is the rocker shaft stands are just 2" tall where the original 414 stands were 2.5" tall. The 466 rocker shaft is a great solution since the rockers are cast and provide positive lubrication. There must be some option with the taller stands. I hope you IH guys can direct me.

Can you remove the truck stands and reassemble it with the stands from your tractor? I have no idea if this will work it may throw the geometry way off. Before even attempting this you should measure the shafts to make sure they are both the same diameter.

Can you put a thicker or thinner bushing in the stands to fit the 466 shaft? Or have the stands bored to accept the larger shaft. Could the stands be shimmed up taller with a couple of washers? They would of course have to be large enough id to let the oil come up to the rocker shaft.

All good suggestions, thank you. Will need to do some measuring, possibly have some 1/2" thick shims machined. Since someone on Red Power reported doing a bolt in swap, makes me think there may be another model of 466 shaft with the right stands.
