Got a little problem. I recently sprung a hydraulic leak under the seat so I repaired the rusted out line. Now I can’t get the hitch to raise or lower unless I manipulate the tel a depth control linkage. Upon further investigation, I found that the center gear in the valve has several broken teeth. My question is, can I put a standard single/double valve in its place and operate the hitch? This tractor is mainly for haying and the tel a depth isn’t needed. Any thoughts or ideas?

Yes you sure can and many do replace that tel a depth valve with a regular one. I would add though that some do not do the follow up job of doing what ever it takes to remove the friction control part of the handle. You want that outside handle for the new valve to move just as free as the other two so the new valve can center properly.

Friend of mine bought a 560 a few years ago and who ever switched it just left the lever the same as it was original. Makes it difficult to just stop the hitch where you want it .
