686 diesel fuel valve packing

So the saga of the leaking fuel tank still goes on. I used the Seal-all around the base of the tank outlet and that is now dry. But I still have fuel leaking from the valve. I am going to replace the packing to eliminate that. Can I use the white Teflon packing or graphite packing? I didn't think the Teflon was rated for fuel. The fuel must have been wicking up the sides of the valve and collecting in the seam, making it look like the base was leaking. Thanks!

You are overthinking this, of course you can, either will work.

The "old timers" simply snipped a string off of a cotton mop and drew it through a bar of soap a couple of times and it worked, as well.

NO "rocket surgery" needed with this deal.

Thanks, I just thought I read that Teflon would contaminate the fuel. Overthinking things is my specialty!
