pulled a piston that was stuck have a question on rings these pistons have 5 ring groves only thing I can find on rings are for 4 grove any one else have this trouble,

If you are replacing one piston, The weight and compression ratio must be very close to the other 3. The engine is not ballanced except by reciprocating weight. A few grams, and the tractor engine will vibrate substantially more. Other than that, put 4 rings on it and call it good. Jim

I have never seen that before, so it's got two oil rings and 3 compression rings, or is the one oil ring below the wrist pin?

Yes a aftermarket company named Heisler was on that sold the five ring pistons. One below the piston pin. Don't remember if it was the same as the fourth down.

If you need a ring(s), contact Dave at Otto Gas Engine Works and tell him what you are looking at. Replacing the fifth ring would be no problem. Just out of curiosity, why not hone all the cylinders and replace the rings since you are that far into it?
