My 234 tractor is a diesel with a solenoid to shut it off. The tractor runs OK but won't shut off with the key. I disconnected the leads to the valve and I have 12 volts on one lead when the switch is turned on and when the switch is turned off the current goes to zero after about 3 seconds.I don't know if the valve needs power to open or power to close. Its been a few years since I have worked on this thing but I seem to remember the valve works OK when off the tractor. I changed out the command block (I think that's what they call it) but it didn't change anything. Its a hard tractor to trace wiring or get to anything because of its size. This year the fuel gauge stopped working too. I can't even find where that goes to the tank. Can anyone tell me how the solenoid should work or anything about the fuel gauge.
