These are school-boy questions, but the last time I had to clean out my Farmall carbs was early 2000's (been on a hiatus) and I used a chemical bath, like Gunk. Unfortunately, years of neglect left one of my carbs 'varnished.' My questions:
1. What do you recommend to clean the carb housing before installing the new parts?
2. The little air bleed screw slot is slightly damaged but the rest of it looks fine - leave in, or do you have an easy way to remove? I think the varnish has it stuck in there, and I wasn't patient enough to clean it up before trying to remove the air bleed.
Thanks.
