I am having an unusual problem here. When I lift the lever to engage the PTO is doesn't want to go all the way up to lock the PTO into the on position. I removed the linkage from the PTO control valve and determined that the problem is in the control valve. It feels like there is something internal in the PTO unit that doesn't allow the control valve to come up far enough to fully engage the PTO. Any idea what might cause this?
I did put my pressure gauge on the PTO and the gauge reads nothing. as in 0. Doesn't even wiggle the needle whether I have the PTO control valve in the on or off position. The PTO shafts do spin though, however they do not have enough power to spin my round baler.
I also tried to remove the PTO control valve. I loosened the big nut, but am unable to remove it from the PTO housing. Is it supposed to pull out of the housing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
