changing the head on my 560 diesel and after trying for 2 weeks without success getting one from Napa I call the local cih dealer. They tell me they don’t have the case one which didn’t really surprise me but the had the whole head set from A&I in stock. Well I wanted to move this project along so I said ok Figuring this tractor doesn’t see a lot of use anymore. Well long story short the Chinese apparently think gas and Diesel engines take the same gasket WRONG.the head gasket doesn’t even come close to fitting. No holes for water to circulate so I guess I get to take it back Monday and wait for the right one.

If it's not an experienced parts person they are usually dense and you have to drill it in their head what you need. Ive been ordering tractor parts through carquest since I hate modern case IH agriculture.

What kit number did they end up getting for you? The gasket is different from gas to diesel on those. A&I hasn t had a Diesel head gasket kit in stock for months. I ordered one back in January. The parts guy could have goofed. The diesel part number is HGS236 and the gas is HGS263.

It looks like it was labeled to fit diesel and gas engines. Don’t work that way. The parts man has been there 20 years. So I didn’t examine it very closely until I went to install it today.
