400 hyd. pump seal is leaking oil into engine

Is there another repair other than a speedi sleeve? Many years ago I had the maintenance man at work braze the shaft on my "C", and then I turned it down again. Now that I am retired I can't use that option.
Problem 2. I do have the original pump on a shelf in the garage, for the 400, but I damaged the thread on the bleeder plug and I could not get it to seal. It just oozed a little fluid, regardless of how tight I try to tighten the plug. So is there a way to seal those threads to get it to not leak. Then I could just swap out the two pumps.
Thank you

Try putting a thinner seal in the pump. that will cause the seal lip to hit at a different location. Same OD and ID, just thinner. The other pump might be repaired with a wrap of teflon tape on the bleeder screw. Jim

I simply placed seal on good part of shaft and used loc tree seal to keep in place. Has done the job for quite some point. No more hydraulic oil in crank case.
