1942 Farmall H Memorial Restoration Update

Hello all! I just wanted to give you all an update on the 1942 Farmall H restoration that we are doing to help raise awareness for suicide and mental health. The last couple weeks we have made a LOT of progress. Essentially, my plan was to have the chassis primed and painted by this weekend, but I don't think that is going to happen as we just have too much going on for me to be able to get it done. Essentially, the goal is to prime and paint the chassis, frame rails, wheel centers, bolster and front pedestal that way we will have a roller that we can physically move around. From there, we will do all of the small pieces and tin work. Final assembly will happen when all of that is done.

It has been a LONG and BIG project (larger than any I have ever taken on in my previous tractor adventures). You can also check out the video series on my YouTube channel, and see the progress. I know there are some that don't agree with this project and that is fine. I am enjoying working with the ones who do believe and enjoy seeing this project come to completion. I know that I and many others have learned a lot (I have made plenty of mistakes throughout the process). I plan on using PPG's Omni for primer and paint. I have had very good luck with it on the Case SC that I restored about 12 years ago. Great shine and durability. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the update.

The tractor will be displayed at shows with a donors board for all who have contributed. It also will allow others who have had a hand in restoring a chance to operate, touch, and feel something that they were a part of. There is a variety of pieces of awareness memorabilia (flags, ribbons, etc.) that will accompany the tractor to shows. Also, the video series that we have created has helped to educate others on ways to tear these old girls apart and do a satisfactory rebuild. I don't claim to be an expert nor do I have all of the right tools, but I do the best I can with what I have, with what others have given me for information and help, and apply it to the best of my ability. I have learned a LOT from people on the YT forums over the years, and many of forum members here have taught me more than I could ever imagine. I hope that you and many others enjoy the videos, the pictures, and the story behind this restoration! I look forward to the grand finale!

Thank you! Primer and paint are sitting in the garage ready to spray, but my wife and I leave Friday for our week-long excursion to Colorado. We've put off our honeymoon for two years, and are not going to let any virus stop us. The H will be waiting for when we return!
