I have a cub with 12v conv my new amp meter has a L on the left and a B on the right which one goes to the alt.

If the new gauge is for Negative ground, the L is load, meaning ignition lights and the alternator. The B is battery.
Hooked to the starter switch where the battery cable attaches. If the gauge is for positive ground, It will work hooked up
the opposite. If, unknown, Delta has the answer. Jim

I'm in camp with the other fine gents. I see L for LOAD such as Lights and Ignition etc PLUS a Generators or an Alternators
output,,,,,,I see B for Battery to the hot ungrounded battery post.

The output of a charging system that uses a Generator and a Voltage Regulator or a Cutout Relay would be its B or BAT terminal which wires
up to the L Load side of an ammeter, if an Alternator is used the L Load side of ammeter wires to the big main output stud on an Alternator.
Other BAT side of ammeter to battery. Using an Alternator I'm ASSUMING its for NEG ground in which case my guess is the L and B are for NEG
ground also
