This mag is a F4,Ive got the same on my 33,but I don't think its right. Its to large in my opinion. Its hard to install because its over the water outlet. If I had it to do over I would use a 2 bolt flange mag,The problem with these tractors is they were so few, most people don't know

Would most likely have been an International E4A magneto initially but the F4 replaced the E4A about 1933/34, the mountings are identical though the coupling may have differed. When the F4 came out the E4A went out of production, the E4A are much harder to find now and tend to be expensive.

That magneto may have been fitted to an F12, but not originally to your motor. F4 magnetos for Waukesha motors were the first type Part Number 21447 D), that is F4 501 to F4 38847, with early type impulse coupling - 21300D). F12 tractors with FS 2049 to FS3034, with Waukesha engine were fitted with early F4 magnetos. The early F4 magnetos had a slightly different magneto frame (2546DBY), different rotor pinion (21339D with 33 teeth) and E4A distributor brushes (E4A-594 X) and different impulse coupling (21300D) from the later F4s.

Judging from the magneto numbers on my two F12s (and assuming they are the original magnetos), your magneto is probably late 1936 or early 1937.

I have a FS 2573, so I d be looking for a F4 501-38847?

That is correct.
The TC-9-B Parts Catalog McCormick-Deering Farmall Tractors Models F-12 and F-14 has the information. It is not nearly as user-friendly as the letter series books, but helpful nevertheless. It includes a list of parts for the Waukesha engine with IHC and Waukesha part numbers.
I got my magnetos rebuilt by Rudy Calin and they work well. No idea what an early F4 would sell for in the United States. Old IHC and Bosch magnetos turn up here for anyting from $10 to extremely aspirational prices!
