BN front wheel bearings

I am replacing the wheel bearings on my dual front BN. When I removed the wheel there is a part left on the spindle that I don't think should be there though it won't come off. I will try to post a pic.
Sorry for the dumb question but I do not remember having this issue before.

Did the rollers fall out of their cage when you took the hub/wheel off? If so, you have a part still on the axle. Use a little force evenly around it to get it off. A wheel-puler will help.

I should just have the dust deflector left on the spindle, right? I had to pry the old seal out of the hub but looks like another one still on there. It won't come off easily and I don't want to ruin what's left if it's supposed to be on there.
Haven't figured out how to post a pic from my phone, still trying. Sorry.

Pic?

What does the new seal look like? Is the part still on there the old seal? Or did the seal come off with the wheel?

I figured this out. What's left on there is the old, original oil seal and felt washer. I must never have taken one apart with the original seal still in place. Struggling now to get that old seal off. I have dealt with them in other parts of tractors and they are HARD to get off.

I was having a problem recalling what the seals looked like when I did mine about a year ago. This was the second time I did mine but the first time was about 30+ years earlier and as I recall back then I had used a different style seal, one without the felt seal.

Glad to hear you have it figured out. Just remember the old seal does not need to be saved but the spindles and hubs do!
