Farmall B High Idle Screw

I discovered this afternoon that the high idle screw on the top
of the governor on my B looks like it had broken off at some
point in time. Almost makes me wonder if it was even doing
anything in its current length. So i get onto caseIH parts and
find the part number for that screw, and I can?t seem to find
anywhere that sells that particular screw or at a minimum the
dimensions. Does anybody know what the length of that
screw is supposed to be?

Grab a 2 or 3 inch length of "all thread" and screw it into the housing until it contacts the internal lever and roughly set the high idle where it needs to be, then measure it up and obtain a "fully threaded" bolt of the appropriate diameter and length.

Of course, it won't have the safety wire locking holes like the original, if that's an issue.

The alternative would be to simply cut the "all thread" to length and screw a nut on "flush" and weld it.

Should be 1 1/4 overall length. Your end is worn probably because the input lever has lots of "slop" and when throttle is full the arm in the gov hits on the side of the threads thus the wear. You need to remove the housing and bore the hole to 5/8 then put a 1/2x5/8 bushing in then that shaft will move without moving all over then that hi-speed arm will center on the end of the screw instead the mismatch you now have. Your throttle response will be like new again. Wouldn't hurt to install a new gov spring also check the EW 1/2 bearing that rides on the bushing of the gov shaft. I have fixed several of them.
