Farmall B Radiator

My daughter and I are still working on her project and have a question about the tube on the radiator. The radiator is on the 1947 Farmall B. It appears to have broken off.

I have attached two photos of what I believe where it starts and ends. Also, what is it for?

it is a solid tube goes down left side and ends about 2in lower than the radiator. That's the way mine is it is a Louisville tractor and original

It appears to be a hollow tube coming out of the top of the radiator. I have looked at a several pictures online and can see some with tubes but cannot tell much about them or what they are designed to do.
