plowing with a 140

Never plowed with a 140, never even drove one,but I've plowed with an A with a single 16" and that is all it wanted. Never seen a single 18", my guess is you'd get a better job out of the single bottom.

I plow every year with a Super A and one bottom of the 189A plow. It does a great job. Typically it plows fine in 3rd gear, but the engine is getting due for an overhaul and it was a little stickier this year when I plowed, so I plowed in 2nd gear.

I've got a Farmall 100, I've got a fast hitch 14 inch 2 bottom plow and a fast hitch 16 inch flip flop single bottom. I've pulled both . Tractor has no problem pulling the 2 bottom . You should use the one that gives you the best job.

Depends on your soul type, if it's been worked recently, how deep you plan to set the plow, what shape the plow is in etc. The area of resistance for the 2 bottom is 24", while the area for the 1 bottom is 18". A 140 has an upgraded A or B engine, 3rd generation, so you should plenty of power regardless of your soil condition. I'd try them both if you have room & time. Then use the one that does the best job.

well after the novelty wore off, he sold the plow it was a big load for it, he decided it made a better raking tractor!
