I bought and installed a set of brake discs from an aftermarket supply house for my 656 last year. Everything was in great shape, adjusted properly, but they had no stopping power. Forget locking up the wheel in a hard turn. A couple years prior, I put a set of brake discs on my 830 Case purchased from the CIH dealer. Amazing, like power brakes. I thought, what is the chance that the lining material on the discs from the aftermarket supply house was super hard which would make the braking not worth a darn. So, I bit the bullet and bought a set from the CIH dealer for the 656...about twice the money. That 656 now brakes like it should.

I'm passing this along to advise all brake lining material is not created equal. Sometimes, you get what you pay for.
