I brought an 886 tractor. I have the manual and am I correct in that there is one fluid reservoir for both hydraulic and rear end and one filter? So should I use one of those hydraulic/transmission oils. thanks

Correct hyd and rear end all one. Like guy said hy tran or prably fleet farm universal . Can you send pic and price of tractor? I had a 886 and liked it and have my eyes on a new one.

Where? And IH or German? If it's an IH with that low hours and HVAC it's prabably worth a few thou more

I don?t recommend cheap oil. I had to do a clutch and TA on mine shortly after buying. IH dealer (wife?s uncle so I trust his information) said poor quality oil caused it to fail. In all honesty, I believe the previous owner put ?lipstick on a pig? but it is what it is. I do know hydraulics weren?t working well at all, then soon after TA took a dump. Put new TA, IH hi tran oil, new filter, and has worked perfect for several years now, mostly used baling hay and chopping corn silage in the fall.

I would recommend either CIH hytran fluid,OR, Shell Spirex, which is the equivalent. Do not use cheap hydraulic fluid. Mark.
