I posted a couple questions earlier in the week about a 666 High Crop tag I'm restoring. Thanks for your responses.
I've had a hard time reading the original numbers due to overzelus sandblasting.
I can read the Model No. line in the middle of the plate. That says F 666.
I can read some of the bottom line.
This line I've learned has the Kind / Code / location of manufacture / Serial number.
So far I can read:
2450181 - the 8 is questionable, could be a 9 or also a 3.
So this tells me the Kind is a 245. That's for sure.
The 0181 if I have the 8 correct is the Code. For the next character, I'm having trouble seeing a U which stands for manufactured in the USA which is most common VS Australia. Did IH ever produce 666s in Australia?
Then the numbers are really obscured.
So for a high crop model, does anyone know if the "Code" could be 0181?
I have researched some serial number lists but they don't list High Crop models separately.
Does anyone know how many 666 High Crops were produced?
Anyone have a really detailed list of serial numbers?
