'51 cub points

(quoted from post at 11:04:26 03/06/20) what would the Blue Streak points part number be, THANKS

Standard Ignition # is IH2958. I don't believe they make a "Blue Streak" version of that number. If they do, it would be the same number with an "X" at the end.

horizontal distributor: tough to put points in, while on the tractor. but can be done. i never had enough courage to pull distributor. ha ha

Why would pulling a distributor be that difficult to do?

Unless there is something major different about those on a Farmall than ones on say an old Chevy.

For a first time person I would suggest removing the cap and rotate the engine by hand to have the contact on the rotor pointing straight up on a horizontal distributor. Then before loosening the clamp for the distributor use a sharp tool to scribe a mark on the distributor and the drive it is mounted on.

Now all you have to do when reinstalling the distributor is have the rotor pointing straight up and the scribe line lined up and you are good to go. Just don't let someone turn the crank or bump the starter button while it is off.

Magnetos can be a little tricky so I'll leave them out for now!
