Hydraulic problems with 2424

Started my 2424 today, and I have no hydraulics. Last time I used it was 3 weeks ago to plow snow and it worked fine. Today, no 3pt lift, no power steering. No noise coming from the pump, or heat that I could detect. Could the pump have died just sitting there? I will check my manual to see if there is a shut off switch somewhere that I might have hit climbing on or off. I have a bad hip and bad knees and struggle getting on and off. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tim

There are a few things that could make it stop working. The most obvious is low oil level. the next is loss of prime in the pump.
A realistic ans common factor is the failure of the shaft seal in the pump. This leakage allows hydraulic oil to get into the engine crankcase. Checking the oil level in the engine may show it to be over full. There is your answer. If not that, the key driving the pump from the cam gear can fail. If low oil and no external trail of oil, check the engine level. Jim
