M W Hand Clutch on Farmall M

I have disassembled the hand clutch down to the brake drum, which has to be removed to install seals in the brake bearing cage. The drum feels loose and ready
to come off and I have GENTLY pried against the transmission casting but it doesn't want to slide off. What is the trick?? Thanks, Ellis

If you remove the piece in center with 3 screws you will find a retaining ring holding Hub to splines. Spines its on is the bull pinion gear on that side and won't come out unless the housing comes out and you know what it takes to remove it from past work. If I remember correct it's a spiral ring.
