I am going to replace the pto bands as they can?t be adjusted anymore. Do I have to drain the transmission, or can I just drain the pto housing? Any tips other than what is in the IT manual?
Thanks,
Jerry

If the front PTO seal doesn't leak just the PTO needs drained. If original seal I would place front of tractor a good bit lower than rear if possible when replacing the bands.

have you looked at bands? As mentioned before sometimes you can switch out brake band with power band, I did that on my SMTA. Other possibility is trying to find someone to reline them I think in the past someone on the board said they got some relined at brake repair shop

I swapped my power and brake bands, as said. But my seal was (and still is) leaking, which made for an interesting job. It wasn't too bad though as I remember.

The bands are very pricey as I recall, almost $400 for the set. Hence the reason I chose to swap them. Luckily it's still holding up well.

Purchased one new band for the powered side. Brake band holds ok. Won?t replace ?till warmer here in WI. No heated shop😬
