Buddy just asked what fast hitch would fit his SuperM. I have forgotten what can be made to work

if buddy is thinking of one from a recycle yard(wrecking) a 400 is almost like a super M.
One from a 350 would also probably work ( updated model H ) might be a bit lighter.
400 or 450 would be best choice. Sounds like a good project. Why not just trade the M for a 400
would save a lot of work.

Early production 400 is the best option. it has a second cylinder near the front of the wishbone that allows tilt of the implement. Later units have a poor excuse for traction control. Some fitting and adaptation is (IIRC) needed. Jim

I think he told me the has $450.00 in it with great tires. He could build the whole hitch from scratch if he wanted to. He makes a living running a welding and fab shop. Thanks guys,he is moving up,his last tractor was a Case.

The real answer is NONE will fit without some adaptation.

If your friend had a Super MTA, it has all the bosses on the differential housing for mounting a Fast Hitch. The Super M's differential housing is smooth as a baby's bottom as far as that goes.

M&W at one time manufactured adapter plates that bolted on with the axle housings to mount a Fast Hitch on a plain M or Super M, but good luck finding those. However, a capable fabricator could come up with something.

300/350 style fast hitch will NOT fit, no way, no how. The differential housing on the Super M is too wide.

The later 450/560 style is easier to mount because it is totally self-contained. The early/400 style's lift mounts to the top cover of the differential, and the 400 tractors have the place for mounting the hitch.
