Farmall 706 wires going to glow plug push button

Trying to figure out the wiring for the glow plugs on a Farmall 706. The wire in question is the wire feeding the 12 volts to the push button. It seems the wire leading there which I think was red has another red wire spliced into it leading back into the dash with a connector on the end, but not hooked to anything. I think I saw a glow plug wiring harness online somewhere and it show the same deal - a red wire spliced into the red wire going to the push button, with the spliced wire going back toward the fuel tank but not hooked to anything. Can anyone tell me what is going on with the spliced-in wire? Thanks.
 
Does that other wire have just an eyelet on the end. One wire should go to the junction block on left side near TA lever. Would feed a cigarette lighter if it has one.

But, first of all there originally were two red wires running parallel to each other from main battery terminal on starter up to the glow plug meter with a dual connector in the wires before it gets to meter. Then a single heavy wire goes to glow plug push button.

A couple other wires are spun off those red wires before that double connector and lead to ign and light switch.
