International 886

I put a new clutch and TA into an 886 and cannot seem to get
it adjusted properly. Everything is working, TA feels very good
and all brakes and power steering are working. The problem
is that the oil light on the dash will not come on in the dash
unless the tractor is shut off and the tractor does not want to
roll if I push in the clutch on a hill. I?m thinking it?s the dump
valve but I do not know how to check it. Help please

Yep , your adjustments are off . Now being and 886 ya got a couple other things to worry about . Since i aqm not standing next to the tractor i can not see if you have what main clutch linkage is on your tractor . Now first off i am not getting into the whole deal of HOW you set this up . It is 2.23 Am and i am starting to become under the alflunce of inkohol as i just finished up my third two fingers spread wide glass of Crown royal black ( nerve med's ya see ) and just about to pull the plug for the night . Look back in the archives on the way i set them , the only thing ya need to do is get your NON running free travel for the clutch set Before you start the rest of the set up . . Ya got more problems get with me later .

Double check your clutch free travel first. Now look at the dump valve . Is it being pulled out when you depress clutch pedal ?

Adjust so it is pulled out until light comes on when depressing clutch for a starting point. Now make fine adjustment so light goes out just a little before main clutch starts to move tractor. That will allow tractor to roll back when clutching.

Now, if light will not come on with dump valve pulled fully out, you have leakage in mcv. Then you will need to put gauge in lube sender port to check for zero pressure when dump valve is pulled.

This one actually has a 1086 engine in it without a turbo because that was a lot cheaper and easier to find.

Yes I have clutch free travel set exactly how the book says but when I pull the dump valve open it will not turn on the light. I pulled the MCV off again yesterday to double check I had the check valve and O-Ring where they needed to be. So I think next step is to check with pressure gauge at the sending unit port.
