Replacing the boards on a 1940 s corn binder. Having concerns on how to disassemble the drive sprocket for the gathering chains. I can t seem to find a set screw to loosen. Any suggestions?

Those sprockets make me think that you might have to pound the sprocket in a little ways on the shaft & pull the key out. The pulleys on my McCormick
thresher come off that way. Most came out easy. One I had to cut a notch in the key & slide it out with a claw hammer. The one that gave me the most
grief was the main pulley. That bugger's still on there.

Probably a Gib Key. they are tapered and when driven in the keyway, they self tighten the pulley/sprocket onto the shaft. The one you show may have
the Head ground off, if the hub has access from the other side it may be possible to drive it out with some heat and a punch. drilling the key very
close to an edge can get them loose as well. Jim

Makes sense. The sprocket in the background does have a stub. I will give that a try. Thank You
