I want to clean up and paint IH red the parts as I remove.

I want to use spray cans since this is a many evening project.

What Tractor Red is like I F red?

Depending on how much you want to paint, you can buy quarts or gallons of CIH 2150 and spray it on with a
$14.99 High Volume low pressure Harbor Freight paint gun. Best thing about those paint guns besides the
nice job they do painting is less than a pint of thinner cleans them up when your done painting. Spend
the BIG BUCKS and buy a couple in-line air filter/dryers at HF too. Doesn't take much of a compressor to
run those sprayers either.

IH 2150 Red would be my paint of choice. It is available at your local CaseIH dealer for around $66 per gallon or 128 ounces of paint. If going the spray can
route purchase from your local John Deere dealer aerosol spray cans of their buff primer sealer at about $9 per can. It is the same paint as the CaseIH Buff
Primer available from your local CaseIH dealer but only in quarts and gallons. Being yellow in color it gives a great contrast to the top coat red so you have
visual confirmation if your top coat of 2150 red is too thin in spots. Then you can apply your aerosol IH 2150 Red at about $12 per aerosol can which contains
about 4 ounces of paint. That calculates out to $384 per gallon. Most likely you will not be satisfied with the red unless you use a good quality and
compatible primer under it.

I have used many different brands of paint in IH red. The ONLY brand that is the correct color, and stands up to weather, is the Case-IH 2150.

The longevity of the rattle can paint (shine loss & fading to pink) is my biggest concern, besides the price.

Clean & prime a bunch of parts. Spray a bunch after a week with the IRON GUARD paint available at IHC dealers. Good
stuff for the price.

I was advised by the old-timer at my CNH dealer to use the Case BN-17566 or some such number, and it looks just like the new Farmall's on the dealers lot. A beautiful red. I'm very happy.

I always go with manufactures paint. IH 2150 is the correct color. If you use a hardener with this it will keep original color longer. Got to be careful with that hardener, have to have good ventilation and respirator when spraying.

I have no idea what he was using, but a fiend had a glass pint jar thing that had a hand pump that he used to
paint some detail work on his pu. It was reusable and did a good job, then you could use 2150. Ask at the paint
dept at a auto paint dept.(auto parts store)
