Super H Hydraulic Plug

Yes. But, if used on a double acting cylinder, it can be un-vented. The correct cap looks like a bakers hat, or shift knob. Jim

As Jim says... If original cap is gone,a regular 3/4" pipe cap can be used. Simply drill a small hole in top and stick a cotter pin in the hole for the vent.

Not sure why your asking. Know the fill on those is slow with venting on the fill hole and fluid level can be overfilled and blow
oil out the vent in cap. On mine I went with ease of use over original. With unit apart for cleaning I drilled and tapped a hole in
top and ran a 1/4 inch pipe up under hod in front of gas tank and installed a vent with screen like pictured on the end of elbow.
You can see the route of vent pipe behind the control lever in the picture. Also installed oil level check valves you can see in
the picture. Plugged vent hole in original cap on fill pipe. Figure on if ever wanting to return to original installing cast iron
pipe plugs in the extra holes and blending to housing. Can put oil in without blow back of air and easy to check oil level now.

Last 40 years my '54 SH has run 2-way cylinders only. Still should have a vented cap on reservoir since
the volume of oil changes according to how much piston rod in the oil wetted volume of the cylinder. The
1-1/2" rods on the two 2-1/2"x30" loader cylinders displace just a bit less than a quart EACH.
The Lift-All on the 300/350 was a big improvement over the '54 SH, and the '54 SH was a HUGE
improvement over the '53 SH and straight H.
Dad put M&W live 2-way on the '51 M about 1960, maybe '61, couple days after he mounted the Stan-Hoist
loader. The cast iron higher psi higher GPM pump was nice on the loader.
