450 diesel getting closer

I had the head resurfaced and checked and it's good and sleeve standout is good. After my 5th attempt I got it to not leak anti freeze into the oil for the first time, however compression it is still bubbling into the radiater on the 1st and 2nd cylinders. I retorqued hot a couple times to 125. The only thing I can suspect to be wrong is the block deck isnt flat? It would be way too much work to have that redecked. This might be as good as its gonna get but I don't know if it will be much good if I use it like this. Any suggestions or tricks appreciated.

Might try running a good almost new file across the top of the block and see if any high or low spots show up. At least that will let you know where you stand and if in fact that is your problem.

Might be an idea. Wonder if it would work to try with sleeves in and what about metel filings falling in?

If you have access to a parallel. Set it on the block deck and use either a feeler gage, or better yet a light, to see if it is flat. The light will shine under if there is clearance that you might not be able to get a feeler gage in. You could get an idea with a good level or a square set on there for the same thing. Don't push down on either one of them though just set there and look with a light again.

If you use a mill file, they are a very fine cut. You could spray WD-40 on it to hold the filings. You need to use a very light touch when doing it, as all you are after is to put a very fine shine on the high spots. I have only done one tractor over haul myself. One place that was high was around the head bolt holes. As mentioned above, the straight edge and feeler gauge is a good way to do it. It is just take a lot of time and patience.
