Farmall 460

I have a Farmall 460 with a narrow front. It has a front pedestal off of a H or M because it has the old style front wheels like an h or m. I want to change
the pedestal so I can put the disc style front wheels on like it should have. A fellow at a salvage yard I talked to on the phone told me I can put the 460
hubs on my pedestal, but I think he is wrong! Can anyone tell me if I?m right and what pedestal fits my tractor? Thanks in advance.

From H Farmalls to later 3 number row crop tractors with their origins in the H lineage, the pedestal has the same bolt pattern. M derived tractors do not. Jim

It would be off a M ETC. put on the 460. 460 and 560 used the same bolster 4 bolt pattern. Different size bearings and hubs different for the bearings on the two bolsters though. For disk rims a 460 or 560 bolster ETC. will work. You can get hubs for disc wheels to fit a M bolster, used to sell them on this site and maybe still do. I didn't look.

Yes the spindles are a different size on the narrow front bolsters on a 460 compared to a 560. But the upper bolster is the same on both. International 460 could have a heavy duty hub for the fronts that was the same hub used on a 560. Pretty sure I remember at least on bearing was different than a 460 or a 560. Long time ago I had bearing and race numbers to install a 560 hub on a 560 spindle. Need to see if I can find that.

The 460 pedestal is about 1 1/2? shorter than a 560, for reasons unknown to me. I don?t know if all others are the same as a 460 or a 560. Shouldn?t make any difference one way or the other.

Messed up in last post, was wanting to say at least one or both M spindle bearings were different from a 460 spindle or a 560 spindle. Also think I have some bearing and race numbers somewhere to mount a 560 hub on a M type spindle.
