If the bushings are worn, and the gears have scored the housing, find a different pump to put into your reservoir. Replace the seals of the "new" pump before putting it in. To get the seal out the slotted drive must be removed. To do this, stick an aluminum or copper strap about 1/8" thick through the intake hole to jamb the gears, then use a 1/2" steel bar to turn the drive Lefty Loosy. They are conventional right hand threads and removal is CCW. It will be tight!!! Jim

It is already out just want to clean it up and check it out before re installing. It really wasn't used all that much when the tractor was in service. Dad always removed coupling when not in use.

With limited wear, I would clean the outside with solvent (or just degreaser) and flush out the reservoir, and run it. Jim

I am not a mechanic and I have repaired three of them. A big issue for me was putting a speedy sleeve on the shaft along with a new seal. I take them apart to clean the goop out of the reservoir. You will need a new gasket, bushings and maybe a set of spacers. I found a set of spacers for my M. Ellis
