I recently inherrited my grandfather's international 454 diesel. I am new to the tractor scene so I don't have a wealth of knowledge. I have been working on getting the tractor back in working condition and I feel it is in pretty good shape to have been sitting for 15+ years not being touched. Anyways, as I was changing the hydraulic fluid I ran my magnet through the bucket of old fluid and pulled a chunk of something metal that had broke off inside, otherwise the fluid seemed to be pretty clean. The tractor seems to run and operate fine through high/low/reverse and all 4 speed gears. Parking brake holds well, and both brakes work fine independently. I have not put the tractor under any load, have not done anything but drive it around to make sure all hydraulics are working and not leaking. I would appreciate any insight if this should be a major concern or what this may be from. Hope I don't have to split the tractor to prevent any further damage!
Thank in advance!
