Int When the tractor is turnedernation 404 Hydraulic Issues

I have an International 404. Brought it back from the dead. Split it in two places did, tons of work, put id back together and painted it only to find that the hydraulics are intermittent.

During the overhaul I purged the hydraulic system three times. Used air to push the fluid out. High volume but not high pressure. The prefilter screen has been cleaned several times and I have

changed the filter four times.

When the hydraulics work they are strong. When the tractor sits idle for a period of time the hydraulics raise when it starts. Outside of start up the hydraulics work sometimes but not consistently. I have no idea which way to proceed moving forward. Any help is appreciated.

I am not familiar with the 404 model, but to me your explanation of the intermittently working
hydraulics needs more detail for someone to give you any recommendations of what to do. When
you say ?after starting the hydraulics raise? I assume you are referring to the 3 point hitch. That
would be a common reaction of an older system with a small internal lift cylinder leak or valve not
totally sealing. So when starting the system is just moving hitch to the position the control is set
when the tractor was turned off; i.e. ?Raise? This issue is minor and has nothing to do with
intermittent operation of the hydraulic system. Please explain what equipment operation or actions
the hydraulics are being used for.

Scout, Welcome to YT! Sorry I missed that you are a first time poster in my first reply and I always try to greet new folks. I would also like an explanation of the word used in the thread title ?turnendernation?? Was that supposed to be ?to make a determination?? Or like a phase from an old Western, ?what in ter-nation is the problem with my hydraulics?? Sorry, my poor attempt to add some humor to the topic ;-)
