Starting a IH15B up procedure

So is there a special procedure in starting one?? Is it a throttle type shut down on them or some other type. I've never started one up but maybe trying to do so tomorrow it the weather is good enough. I have ti put on the thermostat and fill the cooling system first. I have already changed the oil. I'll also have to put a couple of batteries in it but that is not a problem since I have few laying around. I just want to be able to start it up and shut it down fast if I have to since it has not run in a few years

Thanks

A DT407 IH engine is shut down at the injection pump, not an intake restriction. So if the injecton pump is operational, and the linkage can move the lever to the stop position, it should be Ok. If nervous, a cover to the intake would work. Be prepared as they say. jim

Hey Old, if it has had some fuel additive in it to absorb the moisture, the pump will be fine, and [didn't have Bio-diesel in it] that's been my experience!!

No sure if it has any type of additive in it but I did open a drain plug it has at the bottom of the tank and got what appears to be good fuel with no water. Being that the drain is at the lowest part of the tank I figure it is likely to have little if any water in it

My closest injection service, has had pumps come in from combines, that sat for 7-8 months, claims there rusted internally, and caused a lot of problems, i am not a fan of Bean diesel, especially not for winter storage, just hope you's isn't !!

I think this was parked before the biodiesel was common and for that matter I do not know of any place to find it in this area
