I am looking at buying one from an estate and the seller knows nothing about the engine....the owner was a machinist so he more than likely made the parts he couldn't find at a reasonable price. Also I believe this was made to be used with a cream seperator and there a gear or special pulley that was used to drive the seperator.

If you haven't already, check over on the smokstak website. There are people there much more versed than I on the IH engines. With a picture or two they can tell you what is original or not and/or give you casting #'s of parts so you can determine what you have. There are also video's on youtube of IH Famous engines with the separator gear drive.
