Don't know if it really matters Mine are down the tube frame piece right beside and behind the lights. This is on an 806 Then under the platform to the dash. The rear fender light was down the back one and then connected to the front lights.

Well this is how i do them on a rewire. You want to get the two wire that is use on trailer brakes , this wire has a cover over the white and black wire so it is double insulated . Ya run them down thru the ft as Caterpiller guy said the tube in the fender and up almost to the platform and install a plug in connector on each side , the lights ground thru the fender to the axle housing , Black wire is for head lights and the white wire is for flood lights . The harness coming off the light switch has a short lead that plugs into the harness that runs down the dash support behind the kick panel there are three wires coming down from the dash with one wire being for the RED road light , you pick up your field work light off the flood light side that is spliced in down under the deck plate . You pull a splice off the red tail light wire and you make that wire a 14 ga. red . Use 14 ga wire for your light wires . When i do these i use OEM plug in ends and plugs .
