Greetings, I'm new to this forum, so I'll start by saying thanks for all the interesting info from all who have posted.
I have a '48 FA mod B with a Zenith B carb. Looking to take it apart & clean it, but noticed the fine wire on the bolts holding the float bowl on. I've seen this on other types of mechanisms, but can anyone explain the significance in this situation (ie: original, rebuilt, vibration, etc.)?
I'm including some photos for any possible ID of the carb model (obviously a B). On the opposite side from where the B is, there is another designation that looks like a #6 (rotated counter clockwise). Does this mean anything?
Any input would be appreciated BEFORE I tear it apart! Thanks.
