Rear wheel rims/Super H

Hello, just signed up! I'm trying to locate replacement rear wheel rims for my Super H. I do know they are 10" x 38" deep drop center and are the original rims. The problem arises in trying to locate rims where the raised center "crown" is approximately 3" across. I am talking about the raised center that is engaged by the mounting clamps. A local tractor parts dealer ordered some for me that had a crown that is about 4" across. Unfortunately, the wider crown will not work with my cast center dish and clamps - without a massive amount of re-engineering that I am loathe to do! The rims that came in were supposedly replacements for IH 55563D.

To make matters worse, I can't find the original part number on my rims - likely under several layers of paint or erased by nature.

If anyone can enlighten me to as to a source for the correct rims or any other info that might appertain - many thanks!

The part number and the manufacturer of the rims is stamped on the inside of the rims. Remove the tires and do some wire brushing and you will find it. The rims were not made by IH.

Thanks Guru. Way more info than I had before. I just ordered a real bead breaker moments ago. Getting too old to struggle with make-shift methods!

Pleny of those old rims in junkyards. J.P. tractor salvage in Fredricktown MO Harvey Gross if not closed for the winter or see him in the spring if he is. He's a Montrose MI Address with a New Lothrop phone. Worthington to Ag parts AllState Ag Parts with several yards in the Midwest and Great Plains area.

You have the correct IH number posted for 10 X 38. IH usually used more than one supplier for rims. One type sloped to bead area
from the drop center and the other type has a step between on the 10 X 38. Had both one from firestone and one from goodyear if I
remember correct. Picture of a different size markings. Not sure how to spell the name of the F&H company.

Caterpillar guy, I'm located in eastern TN so a personal visit to midwestern salvage yards is probably not going to happen - it would be fun, though. Thanks for reminding me about AllState Ag Parts - I'm actually on their email list. I hadn't gotten serious about hunting down used rims yet. Sort of figured they would be in the same (or worse) shape than the ones I have - but maybe not.

D Slater, I have the rims that don't have the step. They just slope out to the bead. The difference in the drop center width between the rim types is the killer. Every 10-38 Farmall rim I see in catalogs appears to be the step type. (Same for 11-38, etc.) Anyhow, this is great info. Can't have too much knowledge!

Only info you will find on Super H rear rims is the initials of the manufacturer, could be either EWC
or FIRESTONE if made by Electric Wheel Company in Quincy, Ill, or could be F&H if made by French & Hecht
or Kelsey Hayes or KH in Davenport, Iowa, two names but same company. Also could be Motor Wheel in
Mendota, Ill, or could say Good-Year. And whoever the mfg is there will be THEIR part number but NOT
IHC's, and the size, 10-38, 11-38, 12-38 etc.

If your interested, AG WHEEL EXPRESS in Mason City Iowa has a good price on DW10x38 rims complete with
the drive lug and silver paint. Have to pay sales tax and shipping.

Flats on my SH are around 3 inches. Hard to get exact with roll on edge of flat. IH tractors like H, M , SM ETC all used the same
flat width.
