Hi, new to this forum and have dug up this old thread to see if any other Super A?s could be found that had this option.
Having read the comments I can confirm that this was a factory option for the Super A and though the valve and manifold tubes are the same as what is used for the Super C, 200, etc.... the hand lever and rod connecting it to the valve is unique and specifically made for the Super A. It is an IH part (assembly # 356878R91) (lever # 356804-R1). There is an operators manual printed by IH ?Hydraulic remote control tractor attachment for Farmall Super A, Super AV, International Super A tractors.? These are more commonly found on the Super C tractors but the control handles are different. The Super C handle is straight with the rods attachment above it?s pivot point while the Super A?s rod is crescent shaped and the rod attaches below its pivot point.
I?ve included this info to dispel any thought that this is an aftermarket or owner created swap. It?s not and is a genuine IH factory made option.
It would seem that it may be somewhat rare as aside from the factory manuals I have not been able to find another Super A like mine (a ?53) with this option installed. I found mine earlier this year in southern NJ and now I?m beginning to wonder if it could be the one from this thread,
Is there anyone else in this forum that has this option on their SA?
I?d like to hear from you if you do. I?d like to get an idea of the rarity of it.
I intend to restore mine and with the snowplow/graderblade mounted I intend to use the auxiliary valve to power angle the blade. My knees will appreciate that.
