Had head milled, new radiator and hoses, tune up kit, fixed various wiring issues... Anyway, runs good now. Got Woods LB deck apart, new spindles and idlers, new belt. Now, I get it all assembled, and, every time I engage the mower, the belt comes off! Tried to get the idlers set as per manual. It says left side idler should be set so belt is approx. 1" above the top groove on deck pulley. Right, 1" below bottom groove of deck pulley. I have the left idler as high as it will go, and that results in a straight line from deck pulley to idler. If I go to the next lower hole on rear mount, the rear of mower will be somewhat lower than the front. Front is adjusted for slightly over 2 1/2" cut, so I don't want that any higher. What on earth am I doing wrong this time? I had no trouble on my Farmall A when I did that deck. This thing is driving me crazy, though, admittedly, not a very long trip....
Should also mention that the assembly with the idlers and rear bracket mount has up and down play. Is this normal? Should belts be tight enough to hold it in the highest position? At that point, it hits the rear end, at that seems to be what limits it's upward travel.
